About Us

The Raw Prawn continues to thrive on one family’s collective experience in Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns restaurants. It was in 1996 that the Horn family their first restaurant to the visitors and locals of Cairns.

Carlton Horn is joined by his wife Tiina, and father Peter. The Head Chef is none other than Carlton’s sister, Kristin. Kristin completed her apprenticeship in Melbourne with an accolade of top honours. After working in Melbourne and Brisbane restaurants, Kristin has returned to Cairns where she continues to excite taste buds with Asian flavours and Australian foods.

Along with their staff, the Horn family embrace the restaurant ideals of fantastic service and an enjoyable dining atmosphere.
